Alcatel is a familiar name when it comes to budget phones. The company has recently unveiled a bunch of smartphones at the MWC 2017 and one of these phones is the Alcatel A3. While the Alcatel A3 release date UAE is still a mystery, we have learned all there is to learn about the upcoming smartphone. To find out more about this phone including the Alcatel A3 Dubai price and specs, keep reading.
The Alcatel A3 is a good looking phone if not great with metallic frame and nice textured covers on the back. It’s quite unique looking which is surprising for a budget phone. There are two different versions of this phone and this one features a 5.0-inch screen showing only 720p or 1280 x 720 pixels resolution and 294ppi of pixel density. The other one includes XL in its title and comes with a big 6.0-inch screen. It’s not too fat but not too thin either with thickness at 8.6mm. There is the Nokia 5 and LG Aristo that are expected to show up at the same time as the Alcatel A3 release date UAE and are also low-end phones.
There is not much to look forward to here, the rear camera is a 13-megapixel one which is capable of capturing 1080p videos at 30fps. We will be able to find out more about the camera after the Alcatel A3 release date UAE. A good thing about the front camera is that it comes with LED flash and is a 5-megapixel one. It’s difficult to find a phone with front flash so this is a great feature for selfie lovers. There are some selfie focused filters in the phone including Face Mask live filter and Face Beauty. For storing the captured contents, users will only get 16GB built-in storage but it can be expanded to up to 32GB using the microSD card slot. If you are ready to spend some more money, there is the OnePlus 2 and Motorola Moto G4 Plus. These are almost in the same pricing range as the Alcatel A3 Dubai price.
One of the weakest parts of the Alcatel A3 is definitely its processor. It’s packing a Mediatek MT6737 octa-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz and is paired with 1.5GB of RAM. It’s surprising to see a phone with 1.5GB of RAM as most of the phones are showing up with minimum 2GB of RAM. Another disappointing thing is the operating system which is the old Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Alcatel focused on the security of this phone and included a fingerprint scanner. Battery life might be a concern as the phone includes a 2460mAh battery. There is the Asus Zenfone Max 2016 that comes with a big 5000mAh battery.
From what we have learned so far, the Alcatel A3 will cost around 550 AED or SAR (~1100 EGP) when it’s here. It’s expected to show up sometimes in April or May, 2017.
