1 year in review with Pricena! [Infographic]

Pricena is 1 year old! We celebrated with our launch of the Egypt site and have compiled an infographic below showcasing what we’ve done for our price comparing users in the UAE over the past 12 months.

Since July 2013, we’re happy to have served over one million users who came to our site to compare prices of over 100,000 products across 40+ stores in the UAE. With an estimated average saving per purchase of AED 200, we estimate we’ve facilitated more than AED 1 million in savings for our smart shoppers.

The price difference between online stores and malls in Dubai is still very large, as smaller online stores are gradually becoming known. Expect to save more than AED 700 online for a Galaxy S5 for example, and up to AED 600 for a Macbook Air 13″. For high end cameras, such as the Canon 5D Mark III the price difference can be of several thousand dirhams.

The iPhone 5S maintains great value even a year after their release, with only a 19% price drop to date, while the Galaxy S4 for example (and pretty much all non Apple phones) took a 45% price drop since it was released.
