Both iPhone and Android phone lovers had something to look forward to in 2015 as we saw some great smartphones like the iPhone 6S Plus and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge. iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus

Although it’s too early to talk about the upcoming iPhones, rumors and leaks have already started to surface. There was no major change in the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus design-wise but there will be some major changes in design of the upcoming iPhones. It’s expected to be super thin, cut the usual 3.5mm headphone jack and replace it with D-jack headphone, eSIM and certified to be water resistance. Major changes are expected under the hood as well for both the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus including 2GB of RAM and A10 processor. While there won’t be any major boost in the camera department, some improvements and tweak is expected.

The battery life of the iPhone 6S was not good enough and we are hoping to see some change in battery life as well. The price range of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will be definitely around 2800 to 3200 AED if not more. Following the releasing cycle of Apple, these phones are expected to show up sometimes August or September, 2016.

LG G5

The LG G series has managed to improve quite a lot over the last years and the latest LG V10 is the proof that the upcoming LG G5 will definitely show up with some cool features and new design. The smartphone is expected to keep the microSD card slot but lose the feature of keeping a non-removable battery to make the smartphone thinner. The camera will also get a boost and upgraded to 20-megapixel one in the back with a new Sony lens while the front one will be an 8-megapixel one. Other notable features to look forward to are: QuickCharge 3.0, 3GB of RAM with the latest Snapdragon processor, multiple storage options and 2K resolution.

Just like the other flagship smartphones, the LG G5 won’t be pocket friendly as well. The price is expected to be around 2200 to 2600 AED. The LG G5 release date UAE is expected sometimes in March or April of 2016.

HTC One M10

HTC didn’t take any risk this year and went for the same screen resolution, screen size and almost same design for the HTC One M9. However, things are expected to change this year and there will be some changes in the design as well if not completely redesigned from scratch. The screen size will remain the same with a separate bigger version titled as the HTC One M10+. One of the major features to look forward to will be the rear camera which will be a 27-megapixel one. Other notable features are: big 3500mAh battery, improved speakers and wireless charging support.

Samsung Galaxy Note 6

The Galaxy Note series is known for packing powerful specs and it’s expected to continue with the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 as well with minimum 6GB of RAM for multi-tasking, 16-core processor and Android 6.0 right out of the box.

With top-notch specs comes not so pocket friendly price tag. The Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to cost around 2600 to 3000 AED. The Galaxy Note smartphones are usually released in September in UAE every year which means it will show up sometimes in September, 2016.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

If there is one smartphone that managed to grab our attention just with its design in 2015, it’s the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge and S6. After the Samsung Galaxy S5, a transformation was needed and Samsung managed to deliver just that. In 2016, we are expecting something spectacular as well. The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge is expected to show up with slightly changed design, 2K display if not 4K, new cooling system, pressure sensitive display and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor. According to a rumor, the Samsung Galaxy S7 will be packing a 12-megapixel rear camera with a large sensor using dual-photodiode technology. While it’s lower than the earlier 16-megapixel camera, it will be able to capture more light. While there won’t be any option to remove the battery in the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge as well, there is a possibility that the microSD card slot will make a comeback.

According to some rumors, the upcoming Galaxy S series smartphones will be slightly cheaper than the S6 after launch which means it will be available for around 2200 to 2600 AED when it’s here. You can expect to see these smartphones sometimes in February or March, 2016.

Apple has recently unveiled the iPad Pro and the next big tablet in 2016 after that is going to be the Apple iPad Air 3. While there won’t be any change in screen size, the tablet is expected to show 4K resolution with improved color accuracy. Just like the iPhone 6S and iPad Pro, the iPad Air 3 will also include 3D Touch technology. Other notable features to look forward to are: better multitasking features, minimum 2GB of RAM if not 3GB, A10 or A9X processor and a surprising 13-megapixel rear camera.
