When the first Samsung Gear Fit came out, it was one of the best fitness gear available at that point with a futuristic look and some decent features. However, it has been a long time since then and now we have the successor, the Samsung Gear Fit 2. The company took two years before releasing the successor and looks like they took this time to learn and introduce an even better fitness wearable than their previous Gear Fit. To learn more about the device including the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Dubai price and specs, keep reading.
While the curved touchscreen is still there, it has been slightly changed and now features a 1.5-inch screen showing 216 x 432 resolution. It’s smaller than the display we saw in the Samsung Gear Fit but is more wide which means it’s capable of showing additional information and detailed notification which was not the case with its predecessor. It can be used with any phone running Android 4.4 or later and packing 1.5GB of RAM or more. For Samsung Galaxy phones, the requirement is Android 4.3 and above. The sleek and discrete design of this fitness gear with its lightweight makes it really comfortable to wear. We have seen the band in three different colors so far which means there are three colors to look for if you are waiting for the Samsung Gear Fit 2 release date UAE, pink, blue and black.
This is where things can be a deal breaker for some people, the Samsung Gear Fit 2’s battery life. If you compare it with the likes of Fitbit Blaze, it’s definitely disappointing. However, if you want a fitness band that kind of works as a smartwatch as well, the battery life is not too disappointing. It will last over 3 days if you don’t use the GPS much. It’s definitely impressive compared to the Apple Watch Sport which costs more compared to the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Dubai price. You can check your heart rate using heart rate monitor and also track activities like cycling, running and elliptical. For tracking your activities, there is a built-in GPS which means you don’t have to take your phone with you.
For storing music, users get on board storage which should be enough for storing over 1,000 songs. The fitness band is packing a dual-core processor paired with 512MB of RAM. The phone is IP68 certified, still it will be a good idea not to wear it while swimming or taking a bath. It can track your activities automatically using its automatic workout tracking feature and can detect different activities. It’s running Tizen OS and is not compatible with iOS devices just like the previous version. For those who are looking for cheaper smartwatches, there is the Asus ZenWatch 2 and Motorola Moto 360.
The Samsung Gear Fit 2 will cost around AED 700 when it’s here. If you are looking for a fitness focused band with a little bit of smartwatch like features, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 is worth checking out.
