10 Highly Anticipated phones and Tablets in UAE in 2015

The year 2014 was quite good for gadget lovers as we got to see some great smartphones and tablets in UAE. There were flagship devices like the Samsung Galaxy S5, iPhone 6 and there were devices that offered a lot for a pocket friendly price tag like the OnePlus One and Moto G 2014. There were also some big improvements in the smartwatches area as the likes of LG Watch R, Motorola Moto 360 and Samsung Gear S came into the market. However, it’s time to look at the year 2015 and see what the year has in store for us.

LG G4

LG G4, the flagship device from LG is expected to show up in 2015 with a bigger and better display featuring 4K resolution. It will be showing up with the Corning’s Gorilla Glass 4 display with a combo of flexible display technology. The processor will be replaced by a faster one, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 808 accompanied by a pair of Snapdragon 810 processor. The LG G3 managed to win our hearts with its features and we are hoping to see something similar with the LG G4 when it’s here after April, 2015 with a price tag ranging from AED 2,200-2600.

HTC One M9

The HTC One M8 is quite popular because of its attractive design, killer specs and again stunning metallic design. The upcoming flagship device, the HTC One M9 is expected to feature the same screen size and resolution. There will be a big change in the camera as the flagship device is expected to show up with a 20.7-megapixel rear camera and 13 or 4-megapixel camera with Ultrapixel technology. If you were not satisfied with the HTC One M8’s battery life, the upcoming phone will be packing a slightly bigger one. It’s expected to show up in March or April 2015 with a price tag of about AED 2,600 following their history.

Sony Xperia Z4

The Xperia lineup from Sony is quite popular for its top-notch camera and we are expecting to see a better one in the upcoming Sony Xperia Z4. It will remain the same megapixel wise which is 20.7-megapixel, but there will be a new generation sensor included. There won’t be too many changes in design except less bezels and slightly rounded corners. Other notable changes we can expect to see in the upcoming Xperia phone are: huge 4GB of RAM and slightly big 3420mAh battery. The smartphone is expected to show up in March or April, 2015 with other phones and tablets in Dubai with a price tag equivalent to AED 2,800.

Samsung Galaxy S6

If what the rumor mill has to suggest is true, we will get to see a completely redesigned Samsung Galaxy S6 in the year 2015. It will be sporting a big 5.5-inch screen showing 2560 x 1440 pixels. The rear-camera will be upgraded to 20-megapixel from its 16-megapixel one. The fingerprint scanner didn’t work well in the Galaxy S5 so we are hoping to see an improved version in the upcoming Galaxy phone. Other notable improvements are: 3GB of RAM and bigger battery. The phone is expected to make an appearance in February, 2015 and then released with other phones and tablets in UAE in April with a price tag of about AED 3,600.

Apple Watch

After making lots of noise, one of the most anticipated gadget of 2014, the Apple Watch will be finally showing up in 2015. The smartwatch will be featuring some new ways to connect with other wearers like recording and sharing your heartbeat, sending gentle taps to each other and sending animated drawings. You will be able to take phone calls directly using the smartwatch using the built-in microphone and speaker or transfer it to your iPhone. It will also work as a fitness tracker, wallet, music controller, remote for your Apple TV/iTunes, remote camera and more. The release date is still a mystery, but the Apple Watch Dubai price tag is expected to be starting from AED 1,200.

LG G Flex 2

LG G Flex, one of the first two smartphones to feature a bent screen in 2013 is expected to get a successor in the 2015. There are reports of a dramatic change in design in the upcoming LG Flex 2 in its bending and curving. It will be packing the Snapdragon 810 processor, a slightly smaller OLED screen and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The LG G Flex sacrificed a microSD card slot for its curvy design but we are hoping to see one in the upcoming smartphone. It’s expected to show up at the CES 2015 with a price tag of about AED 3,300.

iPhone 6S & iPhone 6S Plus

Our list won’t be complete if we don’t add the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus in our list. We are also expecting to see an iPhone 6S Mini with the iPhone 6S and Plus version. We are not expecting to see any major changes in design or screen size, but the rumor mill suggests following the “sidewall displays” Apple pattern that one of the phones might follow the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge with a side display. Other notable changes in features are: a big jump in camera, A9 processor and different battery charging methods. Usually Apple release their phones in September but the latest rumor says we can expect to see the phone in spring accompanied by the Apple Watch.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4

After the success of Microsoft’s Surface Pro 3, the company is planning to release the Surface Pro 4 early in 2015 according to the rumor mill. We are expecting to see the Surface Pro 4 in two different sizes, 12-inch and 14-inch. It’s expected to pack the Intel Core M processor and preloaded with Windows 10 operating system. The release date is still a mystery, but it’s expected to be cheaper than its predecessor and show up at the event of Windows 10 by Microsoft on January 21.

iPad Pro

A new and bigger iPad titled as the “iPad Pro” is expected to show up in the year 2015. It will be focused at the professionals like the name suggests with a Touch ID sensor, iSight camera and lightning connector. One of the notable feature of the big iPad is, it will be running an iOS integrated hybrid OS X operating system accompanied by a more powerful processor than the A8 chipset. The big screen is expected to show nearly UHD resolution. The release date is still not available but we are hoping to see the device before June 2015.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5

If we create a list of top three devices in 2014, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is definitely going to be in that list. The upcoming Galaxy Note phone is expected to be even better and bigger with a big 6-inch Super AMOLED Plus display showing 4K resolution. The 16-megapixel camera will be replace by a 20.9-megapixel main camera and the front camera will be a 5-megapixel one. The S Pen stylus is expected to be packed with a bunch of new features and we are expecting to see some new features like eye scanning technology, a new power saving mode, wireless charging technology and more. It will probably show up in the market with other phones and tablets in Dubai around August, 2015 with a price tag of more than AED 3,600.
